A huge thank you to all the volunteers, speakers, exhibitors and mums who came along to our annual Let’s Hatch Careers Conference for Mums in November. This was the 2nd time we’ve hosted this event and, as billed, the day proved to be chokka block full of networking, information and inspiration- of course all washed down with lashing of coffee and gourmet cakes!
As with all Hatch events the focus of the day was empowering and upskilling mums to reach their career potential. We were fortunate enough to have some amazing female speakers, leaders in their fields, to guide our mums through sessions and interactive workshops that challenged and inspired.
The conference was kicked-off my Hatch CEO Sarah Copeland, who talked about the importance of investing in our own personal development and about making sure that mum isn’t always at the bottom of the list. Next the knowledgeable Kirsty Fitzjohn of ACAS led a session on ‘your rights’ both on maternity leave and as working part.
Nicola Holderness, shared an open and honest account of her own professional journey which highlighted the value in every personal experience and the how having a non-linear approach to your career, can actually bring huge benefits.
After a short break for some mum to mum networking and a visit to our mini-marketplace, attendees were treated to two interactive sessions: one on the brain science behind confidence from the inspirational Ali Tomlinson and the final session was on surfacing your hidden skills from the brilliant organisational and people development specialist Anna Chapman. The conference was brought to a close with an informal networking session where mums exchanged ideas and experience.
Sarah Copeland, Hatch CEO said ‘it was an amazing day, there was such a great buzz in the room and it was wonderful to see all of the mums so actively engaged in their own personal development. As always, our speakers were not only knowledgeable but completely approachable, meaning that the mums who attended felt at ease.
100% of the mums who attended the conference said that it exceeded their expectations and that they would recommend future events to friends. We can’t wait to see you all next November and do it all again!
